The Promise of Surfing Rainbows
Storybook

Having been a Secondary School teacher, and vicar's wife – running groups of all ages…I would suggest "The Promise of Surfing Rainbows" is a guide for any of us concerned with the life of others. These delightfully simple yet profound books will, I believe, help any and all parents and teachers (and thereby their children) regain their serene inner selves. Alice Sumner, Secondary School teacher, and vicar's wife. |

“The Promise of Surfing Rainbows shows how hope can be converted into reality. It will inspire young people in the way that Dorothy did in the Wizard of Oz to the characters she met on the Yellow Brick Road.”
Tim Griffiths. Deputy Headmaster of Rickmansworth School, Hertfordshire, England. |

“Surfing Rainbows has been a wonderful vehicle to raise the issue of feelings and emotions with children fro 4 – 12 years old. The animal characters help children to identify with a range of emotions and through the engaging stories. The children relate to the personalities of the animals and can see that with 'positivity' a different approach to life is open to them. By focusing on animal characters, difficult issues can be tackled generally thus enabling staff to draw out solutions to problems, without getting too close to individual children's 'soft spots'. As with popular traditional stories the animal characters speak to children in a way that fictional 'human' characters could not manage as effectively. Surfing Rainbows begins the quest to help the next generation appreciate they can take control of their journey through life and it provides teachers with a resource that opens an important dialogue to support and strengthen emotional development.” Sue Helps Head Mistress, St Bartholomew's C of E Primary School.

“Surfing Rainbows approaches fundamental spiritual issues without recourse to religious language. The series is ground-breaking in that it seeks to make these concepts intelligible, encouraging and heart-warming to the very young person. The series also has profound things to say for the adult who has suffered any sort of emotional upset…” The Revd John Sumner & Bishop of Worcester's Adviser. |
